William Powell was a movie star always brought wit, sophistication, and charm to every role. He was nominated for the Academy award three different times. As the star of the immensely popular Thin Man series, he brought to the detective movie what Fred Astaire brought to musicals – sophistication, class, and it distinctive delightful personality.  Whether he was starring in screwball comedies, classic dramas, or musicals, William Powell was always terrific.
