On the night before one of the most consequential midterm elections in recent history, join historian and political analyst Barry Bradford for a lively, comprehensive, and completely nonpartisan guide to the races that will determine America’s direction.

This will not be a generic overview prepared weeks in advance. I will update the presentation continually—right through Election Eve—to reflect the latest polling, early-voting data, campaign developments, and changes in the political landscape.

Together, we will examine:

• The crucial Senate races that could determine control of the chamber
• The battle for the House of Representatives
• Key gubernatorial elections
• Important races here in Illinois
• Controversies surrounding early voting

Most importantly, you will receive an Election Night viewer’s guide explaining which races to watch, when polls close, and which early results may reveal where the election is heading.

Why This Election Matters

The results will have an immense impact on the final two years of President Donald Trump’s term.

Control of the Senate will determine the fate of federal judicial nominations—including any potential Supreme Court nomination. Control of the House will profoundly affect legislation, federal spending, congressional oversight, and the administration’s ability to advance its domestic agenda.

The Democratic victory in the 2018 midterms dramatically changed the direction of President Trump’s first term. The 2026 election could prove equally important.

Whether you are a political enthusiast or simply want to understand what to watch on Election Night, this presentation will prepare you to follow the returns with greater insight and confidence.
