Italy holds something special for everyone. The American fascination with Italy extends to the movies. There have been many great American movies set against the backdrop of the amazing physical beauty of Italy. Filmmakers from William Wyler to Woody Allen and stars from Gregory Peck to Matt Damon have made classic films set in this most beautiful country.
In this unique multimedia presentation, we will explore some of the varied and unforgettable movies about Americans in Italy. From beautiful romances (“Roman Holiday,” “Summertime,” “A Little Romance” to intense dramas (“The Godfather, Part II,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,”) to comedies (“From Rome With Love,” “Avanti”), these movies offer both great storytelling and tremendous cinematic beauty.
