Naturally, as a historian who lives for Broadway, I couldn’t wait to be in the audience. And I can tell you that the show more than lives up to its hype. I will offer audiences a mini-biography of the real Alexander Hamilton and his place in American history. Then we will look at the life and work of Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius who created and starred in Hamilton.
Finally, we will look at the musical itself. I’ll play excerpts from the songs, explain the narrative structure and help you have a greater appreciation for the show, whether you’ve seen it a dozen times already or are seeing it for the first time!
