SUMMARY:Fred Astaire – A Life in Film
DESCRIPTION:Fred Astaire is rightfully considered by many critics to be the greatest dancer in the history of movies. \nAlthough the name of Fred Astaire is inevitably remembered alongside that of the underrated and glamorous singer/dancer Ginger Rogers\, his career was actually much longer and involved many other partners\, Find a Fred Astaire film and you might find him dancing not with Ginger\, but with Rita Hayworth\, Audrey Hepburn\, Nannette Fabray\, Eleanor Powell\, Judy Garland\, Cyd Charisse or Jane Powell. Regardless of his partner\, what Fred Astaire brought to the movies was a sense of style\, a method of filming dance\, and a talent that has never been equaled. \nIn film after film\, Fred Astaire created unforgettable moments. He danced with firecrackers in Holiday Inn\, danced on the ceiling in Royal Wedding and danced dressed as a hobo in Easter Parade.  \nSeveral of his partners – including Joan Crawford and Gracie Allen – were unexpected and yet proved to be quite wonderful. Click here to read about other unexpected movie teams. Although will certainly look at his groundbreaking collaboration with the immensely talented and often underrated Ginger Rogers\, we will examine the totality of his career and his phenomenal impact on the way we look at movies and the ways in which we appreciate dance.

SUMMARY:Ike – A Biography of the Private Life Of A Great American (Part 2)
DESCRIPTION:Ike –  A Biography of the Private Life Of A Great American\nVery few Americans have ever had an impact on the world that could equal that of Dwight David Eisenhower. \nHe did a brilliant job as commander of allied forces in World War II\, despite having very limited combat experience. Click here to read a fascinating\, little-known story about how General Eisenhower was prepared to take full responsibility if the D-Day invasion had failed \nAfter serving ably as President of Columbia University and Supreme Commander of NATO\, Dwight Eisenhower did a superb job as president of the United States of America\, despite having no experience in politics whatsoever. After his retirement\, he was still called on to advise his young successor\, John F. Kennedy at moments of crisis. \nIke was one of the great Americans of all time. Eisenhower was widely admired and enormously respected by a public that really did not know him very well. Few Americans could tell you much about Ike’s parents\, his brothers\, his religious faith\, his relationship to his wife and his children. Did you know that Dwight Eisenhower was a superb athlete who once tackled Jim Thorpe? Or that he was quietly one of the most religious presidents in the history of the USA? \nThis multimedia presentation will serve as a fascinating biography illuminating the private life of one of the most admired Americans of all time.
