Many people remember\, in general terms\, that General Washington took his army on rickety boats across an ice filled river to attack the enemy around Christmas time. The image of Washington Crossing the Delaware is so powerful and memorable that it has been used in  advertising\, comics\,\nand every avenue of popular culture. \nA deeper look at the Battle of Trenton shows us that it is actually an unmistakable turning point\, not only in the American Revolutionary war\, but in the history of the world. Although the Declaration of Independence made a breathtaking statement on the rights of man\, without the military victory at the Battle of Trenton\, the Revolutionary war and the Declaration  would merely be obscure footnotes in world history. They would just be anecdotal evidence of another failed revolt. \nWashington’s battle plan was audacious and his leadership was inspiring.
