SUMMARY:What Just Happened - January 2023 Current Events (AM)
DESCRIPTION:Once a month\, you can be part of a current events discussion presentation discussion with a twist. Award-winning  professional historian Barry Bradford will help us learn “What Just Happened?” \nThis session is unique because we will not just talk about our opinions about the news but also learn the history behind the events and their underlying significance. For instance\, when the Republicans deadlocked over their election of Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy\, it wasn’t the first time a speaker election went into overtime. We’ll learn about those historic occasions. Then we will understand WHY the Republican party was so divided over this issue. The history of that division will inform us about future decisions and political consequences. \nWe’ll go through a number of the most exciting events of the month\, and there will be plenty of time for you to ask questions and offer your thoughts. \nIMPORTANT NOTE: ALL comments and questions must be respectfully asked using appropriate language. Speeches and misinformation will be terminated at the express choice of the moderator. \nTHIS PROGRAM WILL BE PRESENTED ONLINE. \nCOST \nI ask for a voluntary donation of $5.00. If you cannot afford it or feel my programs are not worth $5.00\, you are invited to come for free; I am struggling but supporting a family\, so I understand with compassion living on a tight budget! \nCash/Check Payable to Barry Bradford \nBarry Bradford \nP.O.
