We will look at the roots of the war\, the Declaration of Independence\, the early battles\, including Lexington\, Concord\, and Bunker Hill\, before transitioning into a longer look at the seven years of fighting necessary for America to begin its experiment in participatory democracy. DESCRIPTION:1863 was a turning point in America. Abraham Lincoln had struggled with the question of how to handle the issue of slavery. He was personally opposed to human beings’ enslavement but didn’t think the government had the power to end it. In this powerful multimedia presentation\, we will look at how the battles and trials of 1863 changed America and led Lincoln to declare the Emancipation Proclamation. Among the fascinating topics we will look at will be the Gettysburg address\, the major battles of 1863\, Lincoln’s declaration of the first thanksgiving day\, and how Lincoln’s view on emancipation changed.\nIn 1863\, Abraham Lincoln made the rationale for winning the war\, not just the preservation of the Union but also the destruction and elimination of the barbaric practice of slavery.
