SUMMARY:The Swinging\, Controversial Life Of Frank Sinatra - Part One
DESCRIPTION:  \nFrank Sinatra was one of the most charismatic and controversial American entertainers of all time. \nHe was one of a kind!  \nClick here to read about his impressive record on Civil Rights. \nIn this brand-new multimedia presentation\, I will trace the biography of Sinatra’s improbable life. We will look at his odd childhood as a skinny Italian street kid in working-class Hoboken\, New Jersey. His father was a prizefighter turned saloon keeper; his mother was a hard-drinking suffragette and political power in Hoboken who also made a living by performing abortions. We will look at Sinatra’s bumpy road to stardom. His career had so many ups and downs! Frank Sinatra seemed unstoppable from singing with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey big bands to being the idol of the Bobby Sox brigades in the early 1940s. But when he avoided serving in World War II and musical tastes began to shift\, his career went into a steep decline that was only rescued by the help of the Mafia and his fantastic performance in the movie “From Here To Eternity.” \n \nThe rest of the Frank Sinatra story is equally fascinating. Swingin’ Sinatra\, the Rat Pack\, JFK\, Marilyn Monroe\,  and an abiding dedication to Israel and civil rights are part of the story. So are Lucky Luciano\, Sam Giancana\, Skinny D’Amato\, Jilly Rizzo and the Mafia. (Click here to read about how Peter Lawford connected Sinatra to JFK!)In this one-of-a-kind presentation filled with video clips\, amazing anecdotes\, and insightful analysis\, we will look at all sides of the one and only Chairman of the Board\, Frank Sinatra. \n

SUMMARY:Ulysses S. Grant - Warrior And President
DESCRIPTION:After three years of tremendous bloodshed\, Union losses\, and a seemingly endless stalemate\, President Lincoln appointed Ulysses S. Grant to head the Union Army. The War was over less than a year later. Grant saved the Union\, crushed the terrorists\, and helped free millions of people who were the children\, grandchildren\, and great-grandchildren of kidnapping victims from the cruel system that exploited them physically and sexually. His leadership and vision destroyed a racist rebellion. By devising a brilliant strategy alongside General Sherman\, winning the complete support and unswerving loyalty of President Lincoln\, and bravely leading a courageous army\, Grant is rightfully ranked alongside Washington and Patton as one of our greatest commanding officers. In the 1876 election\, the country turned to him again. As  President\, Ulysses S. Grant took necessary steps to rebuild the country\, help the exploited and homeless victims of the terrorists\, and tried to advance America’s technological growth. Alas\, his administration was mired in scandal. Yet\, in recent years\, historians have begun to reevaluate his presidency. His historical reputation has improved. This fascinating multimedia presentation examines his challenging private life\, happy marriage\, and his invaluable contributions to the USA as a General and as a President. \n

SUMMARY:Sam Giancana - Master Of The Mob\, Murderer Of JFK?
DESCRIPTION:Forget Al Capone. \nCapone ran the Chicago Outfit brutally and very publicly for just a couple of years before being sent to prison on income tax charges. Tony Accordo and Paul Rccca ran the Outfit until 1957 when they turned over day to day control to Sam “Momo” Giancana. \nMuch More Powerful Than Capone!\nSam Giancana would rise to a position much\, much more powerful than the thuggish Al Capone ever dreamt of achieving! \nGiancana feuded with Robert Kennedy as he became the CIA liaison with the Mob. Unlike Capone\,Sam Giancana vastly expanded the operations of the Chicago Outfit into Las Vegas\, into California and became the most powerful Mafia leader in the country. He was connected to JFK through Peter Lawford and Frank Sinatra. According to a number of histories\, he and John F. Kennedy actually shared a mistress in common! Some believe Sam Giancana was behind the murder of JFK. And just before he was set to testify under oath before the Senate\, Sam Giancana was murdered in his home. A home that was under FBI surveillance and “guarded by the police! \nCuba\nWhen the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) planned to assassinate Fidel Castro\, the Agency called on mobster Sam Giancana to oversee the unlawful murder of the Cuban dictator. While the complicated and illegal plot ultimately failed\, the implications were clear.  The CIA was working closely with Sam Giancana – the most important and influential Mafia leader in the USA. J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI only learned of the plot because they were tapping Giancana’s phone and watching him 24/7! \n  \nWomen\nAfter he was widowed\, Sam Giancana carried on a very public romance with super popular\, squeaky clean\, all-American girl Phyllis McGuire. As one of the wholesome McGuire Sisters\, Phyllis projected a sprightly\, virginal image. In reality\, her torrid affair with the leader of the Chicago Syndicate was being listened to and tape-recorded in real time by the FBI!  Before his intense relationship with McGuire\, he consorted with Marilyn Monroe (some say he caused her death) and other famous women.  One of the most fascinating stories involves his relationship with Judith Campbell – who was also a mistress of John F. Kennedy!  She claimed that she arranged meetings and carried messages between the two! The stories are perplexing and fascinating. You will not want to miss this one-of-a-kind multimedia presentation. \n

SUMMARY:Stranger Than Fiction: Three Lives Too Wild for Hollywood to Invent
DESCRIPTION:Stranger Than Fiction: Three Lives Too Wild for Hollywood to Invent\nSome true stories are so outlandish they seem like they must be fiction. Yet a few real-life characters have lived such unusual\, bizarre\, and unforgettable lives that Hollywood couldn’t resist turning them into films. Join me for a brand-new multimedia program\, Stranger Than Fiction\, where we’ll explore the incredible true stories of three men whose unlikely paths became the stuff of movie legend. \nStranger Than Fiction: Edward D. Wood Jr.\nWidely known as “the worst director in the history of Hollywood\,” Ed Wood’s movies were so spectacularly bad that they became cult classics! \nHis relentless enthusiasm\, eccentric vision\, and unshakable optimism inspired Tim Burton’s award-winning film Ed Wood. But who was the real man behind the infamous Plan 9 from Outer Space? \nChuck Barris\nThe eccentric creator of The Gong Show claimed in his autobiography Confessions of a Dangerous Mind that he lived a double life as a CIA assassin. George Clooney brought his strange story to the screen\, leaving audiences to wonder: \nWas Chuck Barris a master of entertainment or a master of fabrication? Or is it possible he was telling the truth about being a CIA killer? \nFrank Abagnale Jr.\nA con artist so clever he posed as a Pan Am pilot\, a doctor\, and a lawyer—all before the age of 21—Frank Abagnale’s exploits became the basis for the hit film Catch Me If You Can. \nBut how much of his thrilling story is true\, and how much has been embellished over time? \nA Multimedia Journey You Won’t Forget\nStranger Than Fiction combines storytelling\, film clips\, and fascinating analysis to separate fact from fantasy. It’s a fast-paced\, fun\, and eye-opening look at three unconventional figures whose stories still captivate audiences. \nCOST\nThe program is available for a minimum contribution of $5.00\, which helps support my work and allows me to continue offering engaging content. \nPAYMENT OPTIONS \nCash/Check\nPayable to: Barry Bradford\nMail to:\nBarry Bradford\nP.O. SUMMARY:Bobby Darin: A Brilliant Career Cut Short (Thursday)
DESCRIPTION:With the debut of the new Broadway musical Just in Time on April 23\, 2025\, American music is experiencing a joyful revival of one of its most dynamic stars\, Bobby Darin. The show has introduced a whole new audience to his brilliance\, reminding us why songs like Mack the Knife\, Beyond the Sea\, and Splish Splash continue to sparkle with energy and charm. \nBobby Darin’s story is one of constant reinvention. He effortlessly moved from his days as a songwriter at the Brill Building to rock’ n’ roll teen idol to sophisticated nightclub crooner\, from pop to folk to film. Darin’s career was tragically short—he died at just 37—but in that brief time\, he left a mark that rivals artists who lived twice as long. His ability to reinvent himself musically and to captivate audiences with showmanship and sincerity remains the essence of his legacy. \nThis program will celebrate Darin’s extraordinary life and music through rare clips\, behind-the-scenes stories\, and timeless recordings. We’ll also touch briefly on how Just in Time\, featuring a celebrated performance by Jonathan Groff\, is reintroducing Darin’s magic to a new generation. But the heart of our journey is Bobby Darin himself—the dazzling\, restless\, unforgettable performer who continues to inspire long after his curtain call. SUMMARY:The Beach Boys: America’s Band and Their Timeless Sound
DESCRIPTION:With Brian Wilson’s death on June 11\, 2025\, American music lost one of its most dynamic and original creators. As co-founder of the Beach Boys\, Wilson was the musical genius behind the California sound\, melding lush harmonies\, inventive arrangements\, and emotional depth into pop music in ways few have ever done. From iconic early hits like Surfin’ U.S.A. to masterpieces like Pet Sounds and Good Vibrations\, his work continues to inspire musicians across genres. \nThe Beach Boys created an unmistakably American sound — sunny\, inventive\, and layered with harmonies that captured the spirit of an era. Emerging from Southern California in the early 1960s\, they became the soundtrack of surfboards\, convertibles\, and endless summers. Yet their music was far more sophisticated than it first appeared. Brian Wilson\, their creative force\, blended rock\, jazz\, and classical influences to craft songs that still feel fresh decades later. \nThe Beach Boys constantly pushed boundaries from early hits like Surfin’ U.S.A. and California Girls to the groundbreaking Pet Sounds album and the iconic Good Vibrations. Their work influenced everyone from the Beatles to today’s indie bands. Behind the catchy tunes were stories of sibling rivalries\, innovation in the studio\, and the complicated personal struggles that shaped their artistry. \nThis fascinating multimedia program traces the history of the Beach Boys — from their modest beginnings in Hawthorne\, California\, to their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. \nWith fabulous music clips\, rare stories\, and cultural context\, we’ll rediscover why the Beach Boys remain one of American music history’s most important and beloved groups. SUMMARY:George Abbott: The Broadway Legend You May Not Know
DESCRIPTION:Few names are as central to the story of Broadway as George Abbott\, yet many theatergoers today are unfamiliar with him. Abbott’s career spanned nearly nine decades\, during which he wore almost every hat possible in the theater—actor\, writer\, director\, and producer. Known as the “Father of the Modern American Musical\,” he shaped the look\, feel\, and pacing of Broadway shows from the 1920s through the 1960s\, helping to define what we think of today as the golden age of musical theater. \nGeorge Abbott’s fingerprints can be found on an astonishing range of classics. He had a hand in Pal Joey\, On the Town\, Damn Yankees\, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum\, The Pajama Game\, and many others. His uncanny ability to fix troubled productions made him the go-to man when shows were faltering\, and his collaborations with younger talents like Bob Fosse\, Jerome Robbins\, and Stephen Sondheim influenced generations. At the height of his career\, Abbott was as much an institution as the theaters his shows filled\, and he remained active well into his 100s. \nIn this multimedia program\, we’ll explore Abbott’s remarkable life\, enormous impact on Broadway\, and enduring legacy. \nYou’ll discover why George Abbott was considered the guiding hand of the American musical theater through rare photographs\, behind-the-scenes stories\, and many memorable musical clips. \nWhether you’re a seasoned Broadway fan or new to the history of the stage\, this program will offer an entertaining and enlightening introduction to a man whose work still shapes the musicals we love today. \nNote: His impact was so profound that there is a street\, George Abbott Way\, named for him! It is right in the heart of Times Square! \n  \nCOST\nThe program is available for a minimum contribution of $5.00\, which helps support my work and allows me to continue offering engaging content. \nPAYMENT OPTIONS \nCash/Check\nPayable to: Barry Bradford\nMail to:\nBarry Bradford\nP.O. SUMMARY:Thomas Edison Bright Ideas - A Multimedia Biography
DESCRIPTION:Thomas Edison Bright Ideas\nThomas Edison (1847 – 1931) was a genius! He is best remembered as one of the greatest inventors of all time.  Edison was certainly that!  Edison was not terribly interested in theoretical science. Instead\, he concentrated on practical discoveries such as the light bulb\, motion picture cameras\, sound recording\, and voting machines.  Thomas Edison’s bright ideas transformed the world!  His inventions changed the lives of all Americans and ushered in a period of explosive economic growth as technology created new jobs\, opportunities and investments. \nBut as you will discover in this fascinating multimedia biography\, Thomas Edison was also a pioneering and visionary businessman\, a philosopher\, and a mentor.  He also had some forward-thinking – and wrongheaded – views of society. We will explore the roots of his personality. You’ll see how his personal struggles with learning disabilities and hearing loss make his accomplishments all the more remarkable. \nWe will look at his unique family dynamic\, the early manifestations of his genius\, the controversies surrounding his patents\, and some of his offbeat and dubious beliefs. \n
