DESCRIPTION:Few Presidencies have been tested as fast and as hard as that of George W. Bush. (2000 – 2008) \nJust eight months after his extremely controversial election\, the USA came under foreign attack on September 11\, 2001. The young\, inexperienced President at first seemed overmatched. His approval ratings were at an all-time high and the nation seemed to be completely supportive of a war to end the terrorist group that had viciously murdered nearly 3\,000 Americans.  \nWithin just a few years\, the man who had been elected by the Republican Supreme Court after his brother and his Florida campaign manager counted the votes saw his popularity sink to an almost unimaginable level. After barely winning reelection in 2004\, Bush found support for his wars evaporating and his decision to ballon the debt while fighting a war\, cutting oversight on financial institutions\, and cutting taxes led to the worst recession since the Great Depression. President Bush left office as his party was trounced in a landslide and his popularity had cratered. \nThe fascinating story of President Bush is one you will not want to miss!

The story is powerful as it launches a broadside against racism in America. Like Hamilton\, this is a work of genius that transcends the expectations of musical theater and attempts to influence the political discussion in the country. South Pacific is romantic\, suspenseful\, and often very funny. But\, at its core\, this was a personal statement against racism and prejudice by its extraordinary creators. Two different characters\, both white Americans realize that their love for non-white Asian people dooms any chance of returning to a bigoted America in the 1940s. Beloved by critics and the audience\, the show was nonetheless divisive and controversial with some conservatives! DESCRIPTION:If the 1970s\, comedies tented to be the ground breakers and dramas were mostly bland and formulaic.  TV  in the 1980s tended to be quite different. While there were important comedies\, most notably  The Cosby Show\, Cheers  and The Golden Girls\, for the most part TV comedies in the 1980s  were simply pleasant diversions like Alf\, The Wonder Years\, Perfect Strangers\, & Silver Spoons. \nAs we look at more deeplyTV in the 1980s\, we see dramas  began to show a much more modern style\, moving away from the  predictable\, bland  formulaic cop and doctor shows popular in the 1970s.Programs like  Hill Street Blues\, LA Law\, 30 Something\, & St. Elsewhere were each terrific in and of themselves. But their popular and artistic success also pointed to an evolution into a more mature era of television dramas. \n  \nFinally\, the 1980s where the heyday of must see evening television soaps. We faced the possibility that we would elect the first woman to the presidency\, the first African-American to the presidency or perhaps one of America’s greatest war heroes to the presidency. The nomination battles were thrilling\, the personalities were oversized\, and just when it couldn’t seem to get any more fascinating\, Sen. McCain chose  Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate! \nIn this insightful\, nonpartisan multimedia presentation\, you will learn about the backgrounds of each of the campaigns and candidates in the election of 2008. You’ll learn the very different election strategies that each pursued. We will look at the role of technology\, social media\, race\, television\, and the debates as factors in deciding an election like no other. The election of 2008 provides us a fascinating glimpse into the future of campaigning.   \nWe’ll see how social media and voter tracking began to replace television advertising as a means of motivating voters.  This effort led to long lines of voters across the country. DESCRIPTION:The election of 1960 was one of the most dramatic elections in American history. until the halted recount in the election of 2000\, it was the closest  Presidential election in our lifetimes.  This riveting  multimedia presentation features amazing anecdotes\, entry insights\, and numerous fascinating film clips to help put this most momentous campaign into perspective. \nRichard Nixon was coming off of eight years as vice president to one of the most popular presidents of all time. He had experience in domestic and foreign-policy and was a veteran many tough campaigns. hitill very young\, he offered a new face for the Republican Party’s future. He became the first sitting vice president to earn his party’s nomination since John C Breckenridge exactly 100 years earlier! \n  \nJohn F. Those debates turned the course of the election and changed politics\, They demonstrated the importance of television in future campaigns. Throw into the mix the rest of Martin Luther King Jr.\, Nixon’s phlebitis\, Kennedy’s mafia connections\, mystery votes in Illinois and odd campaign choices by Nixon and you have the makings of a fascinating campaign! \n
