SUMMARY:Who Killed JFK – Historian Presents a Modern Analysis
DESCRIPTION: Who Killed JFK?\n I’ll Tell You! \n \nThe murder of John F. Kennedy on November 22\, 1963\, shocked the nation. A suspect was quickly arrested and subsequently murdered. President Lyndon Johnson appointed a blue ribbon committee – the Warren Commission – to answer the question: who killed JFK? \nTheir conclusion was that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin. Immediately\, the public was skeptical. Stephen King described Oswald as “a semi-educated hillbilly with delusions of grandeur.” How could such an insignificant loser pull off such a dastardly crime? And why did Jack Ruby\, accused of being a Mob member\, kill Oswald? \nWe have been through with whispered knowledge of conspiracies and confessions and coverups. And so the public has asked for an explanation of the “magic bullet.” \nAnd the contradictory witness statements. \nAnd Oswald’s shadowy past. \nAnd all of the “secret files.” \nAnd all of the conspiracy theories. \nAnd all of the “mysterious deaths” associated with the assassination? \nBooks and articles\, movies and documentaries have raised in innumerable questions about who killed JFK. \nWho Killed JFK – Computer Analysis\nSo who killed JFK? I will attempt to answer as many of these questions as possible. First I will attempt to separate historical fact from theory & speculation. Second\, I will show what the historical record actually indicates happened. We have access to much more information today then the Warren Commission had in 1963/4 or the House of Representatives had in 1977. Third\, we will examine what modern computer forensics can tell us about the crime. For instance\, the Warren Commission had access to the “Zapruder Film.”  Today\, we can use computers to enhance and analyze the film. We can use modern technology to analyze the path of each of the bullets that were fired. \nWho Killed JFK – Computer Analysis \nAnd we can use computers to isolate the mysterious sounds captured by a Dallas motorcycle patrolman.  In 1977\, the House of Representatives believed that the recording showed four shots fired in Dealy Plaza.  The National Academy of Science\, among many other groups\, have taken the same sound recordings and used state-of-the-art technology to analyze them. What do we know now? \nYou may not agree with my conclusions\, but you will definitely learn a lot and come away with a new perspective about the historical record of who killed JFK. \nBONUS! Click Here to read the amazing story of how one of President Kennedy’s most trusted Secret Service agents saved the life of Harry Truman – TWICE!

SUMMARY:Sherman's March To The Sea - Saving America By Destroying A Rebellion
DESCRIPTION:Sherman’s March To The Sea – Saving America By Destroying A Rebellion\n No military action in the bloody Civil War was probably more controversial than Sherman’s March To The Sea. After the War\, traitors who were inclined to respect Grant and revere Lincoln were unreconstructed in their hatred of William T. Sherman. Why? The brutal\, unprecedented destruction of enormous swaths of the South hastened the end of the War and sped the end of the barbarous\,immoral and inhumane practice of the enslavement\, rape and murder of the descendants of kidnap victims. Sherman hastened the demise of that unspeakable activity. However the utter desolation of the lives and lands of so many White Southerners had a long-lasting impact on race relations and politics. \nSherman was a complex man\, brilliant and fragile\, harsh and yet sentimental. His troops adored him\, leaders of the terrorist rebellion feared him and Abraham Lincoln recognized his invaluable patriotic service to our nation. In this fast paced and constantly fascinating multimedia presentation\, we will learn how Gen. William Sherman and his dedicated troops easily crushed the army of traitors who stood in their way – in the process making military history and helping save the republic. Add to that his friendship with General Grant\, his deep respect for President Lincoln\, his amazing life after the war – they all make for a compelling and fascinating multimedia history presentation!   \n

SUMMARY:1944 - History In Perspective
DESCRIPTION:1944 was one of the most dramatic years in American history – indeed\, it was a turning point in the history of the world! \nThe liberation of Europe that began on D-Day was destined to change the trajectory of human history. In this fascinating multimedia presentation\, we will examine America as it was in 1944. The Second World War will be an important topic\, of course\, but we will look at many aspects of American life as well \nSo what was America really like in 1944? How much did it cost to buy a gallon of gas\, a loaf of bread or a postage stamp? \nWhat music were we listening to and how much did the average American make that year? You will learn about the Oscar winning best film and how Broadway was being transformed into something much modern. We will look at how the Cubsand the White Sox did\, gaze at what a 1944 car looked like and how people dressed. Naturally\, 1944 being an election year\, our focus will also be to examine the tumutuous world of politics of 1944. \nPresident Roosevelt was elected to a fourth term in 1944 and Harry Truman\, largely an unknown figure was elevated to the Presidency. \nPlease join us as we put History In Perspective – 1944!

SUMMARY:The Patient Is The President - Deaths And Near Deaths
DESCRIPTION:The assassination of John F. Kennedy shocked the nation. As the mortally wounded President was rushed to Parkland Hospital\, surgeons scrambled to try and save him. When the patient is the President\, the whole nation is watching the every move of the doctors. Since that fateful day in November 1963\, every choice\, action\, and report of the medical team has been scrutinized and second-guessed by professionals and laymen alike. As a result of the historical Monday morning quarterbacking of the public\, every medical treatment of every President since has been reported in minute detail! \nThis unique and fast-paced multimedia presentation will have you enthralled as we watch doctors desperately work to save the lives of Presidents Lincoln\, Garfield\, and Reagan after they were shot. We will also look at how other Presidential health crises were handled (or badly mishandled) by physicians. \nFor instance\, President John Tyler might well have lived had his doctors simply done nothing at all!  Woodrow Wilson’s crippling stroke was kept secret from the public\, the media\, and even the Congress by his doctor. In each case\, we will look at what was done\, what wasn’t done and whether medicine today might have changed the diagnosis\, treatment or the outcome! \n

SUMMARY:Meghan Markle And Wallis Simpson - A Study Ii Contrasts
DESCRIPTION:The scandalous relationship between Wallis SImpson and Prince Edward led to a Royal abdication and quite nearly brought down the British Monarchy. The engagement of American actress\, model and philanthropist Meghan Markle to Prince Harry of Great Britain caused many people in America and in England to ask the same question: “Who is Meghan Markle?” \nThe interest was so intense that in December\, 2018\, Google declared that “Meghan Markle” was the most searched name in the entire year! \nThe short answer is that Meghan Markle is a deeply compassionate and quite brilliant graduate of Northwestern University (with degrees in both International Relations and Theater! The biracial American divorcee was a star on a popular cable TV show called “Suits” after a stint as a sexy  ‘briefcase girl’ on “Deal Or No Deal.”  But look deeper and you find that the remarkable Meghan Markle also ran a very influential motivational website with millions of followers and actively\, passionately served in numerous charitable enterprises. So while she is not as famous as Rita Hayworth or Grace Kelly\, Meghan Markle is a wonderful person and already very popular in England! \nWallis Simpson was the twice divorced\, promiscuous\, social climbing American who bewitched the weak-willed\, promiscuous future King of England. She was still married when she began her affair with the fitter King – and was actively cheating on him with another married man! Although Hitler said Wallis would make “A great Queen” the Royal Family and the British people thought differently. After King Edward’s abdication\, they were effectively banished from Britain! \nThis fascinating multimedia presentation will look at these two very different and very controversial women!

SUMMARY:America's Greatest First Ladies
DESCRIPTION:Who were America’s Greatest First Ladies?\nNobody really knows! \nToday\, the press and public pay great attention to the President’s spouse. However\, the role of First Lady was not given so much as a moment’s thought by the Founding Fathers. In fact\, the title “First Lady” itself was not even widely used until the 1850s! Nonetheless\, our First Ladies represent an amazing array of accomplished women\, each with a unique story and a unique place in American History. \nIn this original series I will present a list of my top ten favorite First Ladies.  Of course you know about the legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt. But did you know that the lives of children\, women\, and pediatricians are made better every day in real ways by the legacy of First Lady Harriet Lane? Or that almost a century before Jackie Kennedy we had a younger First Ladywho became an icon of style in the White House while raising adorable children? (Click here to read about Frances Cleveland\, pictured on the magazine cover.) \nAlthough there are so many fascinating stories in this multimedia presentation! It is not merely a collection of trivia.  Rather we will examine how the historical roles of women have changed from the days of marvelous Martha Washington\, a slave owner\, to modern Michelle Obama\, the descendent of slaves! \n  \n

We will also look at how other Presidential health crises were handled (or mishandled) by physicians. For instance\, President John Tyler might well have lived had his doctors simply done nothing at all!  Woodrow Wilson’s crippling stroke was kept secret from the public\, the media\, and even the Congress by his doctor. In each case\, we will look at what was done\, what wasn’t done and whether medicine today might have changed the diagnosis\, treatment or the outcome! \n

SUMMARY:America's Greatest First Ladies
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT!!! The Venue Will Be The Libertyville Senior Center!!!\nWho were America’s Greatest First Ladies?\nNobody really knows! \n  \n

Bell\, a brilliant and determined educator as well as an important inventor of devices beyond the telephone changed the future. The invention of the telephone revolutionized the way we communicate with one another. But could even the great Alexander Graham Bell himself anticipate that someday you might well be reading this on a phone? \nAlexander Graham Bell came from a distinguished family of educators who had dedicated themselves to helping the deaf.
