SUMMARY:Best Actresses To Never Win An Oscar!
DESCRIPTION:The Academy Awards are designed to recognize the greatest achievements in the movies. Each year\, the Oscars are watched by huge audiences\, and the results can make or break a film’s chances at success. They also have a huge impact on the careers of the performers. But as you will see in this unique multimedia presentation\, laden with film clips\, Oscar has snubbed some of the greatest and most popular performers in cinema history! \nThis week we will be looking at the great ladies of the silver screen who have been denied the top acting awards! Some of the names on the list are sure to surprise you! \nAlthough some of the amazing women we will feature eventually did win honorary Oscars or lifetime achievement awards\, it is nonetheless incomprehensible that some of Hollywood’s most important and accomplished actresses\, including many that appeared in numerous acclaimed films\, never won an acting Oscar. \nOne important example would be Chicago’s own\, the amazing Kim Novak. In a ten-year period\, she made six films that are today considered cinema classics.  Despite that amazing run\, Kim Novak was never even nominated for an Oscar! \nOur top twenty list of snubbed actresses will definitely surprise you!  Each choice is accompanied by insightful analysis\, many film clips\, and numerous wonderful anecdotes.

SUMMARY:America's Purpose Statement: The Declaration Of Independence
DESCRIPTION:The most important sentence ever written by an American – a sentence that has inspired people in every part of the world – is found in America’s purpose statement! Click here to read more. The legacy of Washington\, Hancock\, Franklin\, Jefferson\, Adams\, Hamilton\, and Paul Revere still challenges us. \n \nOn a stifling July Thursday in 1776\, our Founding Fathers agreed to a completely unique document in the world’s history. Many revolutions had occurred over the centuries\, but never had one begun with a philosophical purpose statement. \nAlthough the Declaration of Independence has no legal power\, it has become the guiding beacon for what America strives to become. As the events of 2020 showed\, we as a nation are a world leader in human rights\, yet America is still a work in progress. \n \nWhy study the Declaration of Independence? It is the ultimate statement of what we hope to become. Freedom movements in the USA and worldwide have quoted it. \nYet many Americans know surprisingly little about it. In this exciting and thought-provoking multimedia presentation\, I will present the thrilling themes\, difficult negotiations\, contradictory\, complex\, charismatic personalities\, and exciting events leading to the most critical moment in American history. \nCOST \nI ask for a voluntary donation of $5.00. If you cannot afford it or feel my programs are not worth $5.00\, email me\, and I will waive your fee. You only have to request the waiver once; it will automatically cover you for all future programs. I am struggling but supporting a family\, so I understand with compassion living on a tight budget! \nCash/Check Payable to Barry Bradford \nBarry Bradford \nP.O. SUMMARY:Unusual Movie Musicals
DESCRIPTION:What is the greatest movie musical of all time? “Singin’ In The Rain\,” “Grease\,” “The Wizard Of Oz\,” “West Side Story\,” and a number of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films would pop up in many lists. However\, this fun multimedia presentation will not cover an of them! Instead\, you’ll be introduced to some wonderful but decidedly unusual movie musicals. \nWe will see the great Harry Belafonte’s only movie musical – in which he sings music from Bizet’s opera Carmen and a stunning recreation of the Las Vegas strip\, built on a movie soundstage. Each of these unusual films is fabulous in its own way. \nOur cinematic journey will take us from a 1980 film in which Olivia Newton-John plays a daughter of Zeus who roller skates down from Mount Olympus to dance with Gene Kelly before inspiring a struggling artist to build a roller disco (seriously!) to a 1968 full-length\, kaleidoscopic animated feature using voice actors to recreate the Beatles saving us from the Blue Meanies\, this entertaining and quirky program is filled with unexpected delights! \n  \n
