SUMMARY:Tom Hanks
DESCRIPTION:If you were watching TV in 1980\, you might have noticed a curly haired 26-year-old named Tom Hanks starring in an innocuous new show about roommates who dressed up in drag in order to live in a women’s only residence. How could we imagine the silly star of “Bosom Buddies” would go on to become of the greatest stars in the entire history of the movies? Tom Hanks’ long career has led him to be compared with the great Jimmy Stewart – and the comparison seems more accurate with each passing year. \nLike Jimmy Stewart\, Tom Hanks has starred in almost every genre of movie. Hanks has been a smash doing comedy\, (“Splash” “Big”) drama (“Saving Private Ryan\,” “The Post”) and been a leading man in romantic films (“You’ve Got Mail.” “Sleepless In Seattle) Hanks has starred in historical epics (“Sully\, Apollo 13”) and has won two Oscars amidst his five nominations. Clearly Tom Hanks has built a legendary career\, appearing in almost eighty films. And at only 61\, he has the potential to keep working for a long time! \nPlease join us for this great multimedia presentation on the life and career of Tom Hanks. PLEASE NOTE: This event is not open to the public. \n

SUMMARY:Walt Disney - Animating America
DESCRIPTION:It is no overstatement to say that Walt Disney is one of the most influential Americans of all time. His name alone has become synonymous with forms of entertainment and recreation known throughout the world. To call something “Disneyesque” or “Disney like” draws to mind immediately associations. \nBonus! Click here to read the unique story of Disney’s first movie star – it wasn’t Micky! \nHis boyhood had a foot in both the 19th and 20th centuries. He grew up in the center of America\, near Kansas City\, Missouri\, and the idyllic small town of Marceline\, Missouri\, which inspired Main Street USA. Disney spent many of his formative years in Chicago. But his Hollywood years revolutionized the way the world thinks about animation\, movies\, American history\, and vacations. He won countless Oscars and is tied with George Clooney for nominations in most categories! \n \nWalt Disney himself was quite a contradictory figure. \nAt times Walt Disney would come off as warm\, inspiring\, and avuncular\, but at other times he was described as chilly\, aloof\, and brusque. We recognize that he was more than an idea man – Disney was a reluctant entrepreneur whose restless artistic vision sometimes risked his studio and sometimes changed the world. There are so many legends about Walt Disney: from the creation of Mickey Mouse to the question of whether he was racist and anti-Semitic\, to the ultimate urban myth: that Walt Disney was cryogenically frozen. \nIn this fun\, fast\, and fascinating biography\, we will get to the heart of Walt Disney was as a person. Using numerous video clips\, little-known anecdotes\, and informative insights\, this presentation on the life of Walt Disney is sure to intrigue you.

SUMMARY:Bobby Darin: A Brilliant Career Cut Short
DESCRIPTION:With the debut of the new Broadway musical Just in Time on April 23\, 2025\, American music is experiencing a joyful revival of one of its most dynamic stars\, Bobby Darin. The show has introduced a whole new audience to his brilliance\, reminding us why songs like Mack the Knife\, Beyond the Sea\, and Splish Splash continue to sparkle with energy and charm. \nBobby Darin’s story is one of constant reinvention. He effortlessly moved from his days as a songwriter at the Brill Building to rock ’n’ roll teen idol to sophisticated nightclub crooner\, from pop to folk to film. Darin’s career was tragically short—he died at just 37—but in that brief time\, he left a mark that rivals artists who lived twice as long. His ability to reinvent himself musically and to captivate audiences with both showmanship and sincerity remains the essence of his legacy. \nThis program will celebrate Darin’s extraordinary life and music through rare clips\, behind-the-scenes stories\, and timeless recordings. We’ll also touch briefly on how Just in Time\, featuring a celebrated performance by Jonathan Groff\, is reintroducing Darin’s magic to a new generation. But the heart of our journey is Bobby Darin himself—the dazzling\, restless\, unforgettable performer who continues to inspire long after his curtain call. \n\n

SUMMARY:Who Killed JFK – Historian Presents a Modern Analysis (Part 1)
DESCRIPTION: Who Killed JFK?\n I’ll Tell You! \n \nIMPORTANT! \nIMPORTANT! \nOver two fascinating  evenings\, we’ll explore: \n\n\nThe events of November 22\, 1963\, in Dallas \n\n\nThe murder of Lee Harvey Oswald \n\n\nThe Warren Commission investigation \n\nThe Conspiracy Theories\n\nWhat modern forensics and newly declassified files reveal about who really pulled the trigger \n\n\nThe murder of John F. Kennedy on November 22\, 1963\, shocked the nation. A suspect was quickly arrested and subsequently murdered. President Lyndon Johnson appointed a blue ribbon committee – the Warren Commission – to answer the question: who killed JFK? \nThey concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin. Immediately\, the public was skeptical. Stephen King described Oswald as “a semi-educated hillbilly with delusions of grandeur.” How could such an insignificant loser pull off such a dastardly crime? And why did Jack Ruby\, accused of being a Mob member\, kill Oswald? \nWe have been through whispered knowledge of conspiracies\, confessions\, and cover-ups. And so the public has asked for an explanation of the “magic bullet.” \nAnd the contradictory witness statements. \nAnd Oswald’s shadowy past. \nAnd all of the “secret files.” \nAnd all of the conspiracy theories. \nAnd all of the “mysterious deaths” associated with the assassination? \nBooks\, articles\, movies\, and documentaries have raised innumerable questions about who killed JFK. \nWho Killed JFK – Computer Analysis\nSo who killed JFK? I will attempt to answer as many of these questions as possible. First\, I will attempt to separate historical fact from theory & speculation. Second\, I will show what the historical record actually indicates happened. We have access to much more information today than the Warren Commission had in 1963/4 or the House of Representatives had in 1977. Third\, we will examine what modern computer forensics can tell us about crime. For instance\, the Warren Commission had access to the “Zapruder Film.”  Today\, we can use computers to enhance and analyze the film. We can use modern technology to analyze the path of each of the bullets that were fired. \nWho Killed JFK – Computer Analysis \nAnd we can use computers to isolate the mysterious sounds a Dallas motorcycle patrolman captured.  In 1977\, the House of Representatives believed that the recording showed four shots fired in Dealy Plaza.  The National Academy of Science\, among many other groups\, have taken the same sound recordings and used state-of-the-art technology to analyze them. What do we know now? \nYou may disagree with my conclusions\, but you will definitely learn a lot and come away with a new perspective on the historical record of who killed JFK. \nCOST\nThe program is available for a minimum contribution of $5.00\, which helps support my work and allows me to continue offering engaging content. If you are signing up for both programs\, the cost is $10\, and you should make a note of that when you send your payment. \nPAYMENT OPTIONS \nCash/Check\nPayable to: Barry Bradford\nMail to:\nBarry Bradford\nP.O. SUMMARY:The Swinging\, Controversial Life Of Frank Sinatra - Part Two
DESCRIPTION:Frank Sinatra was one of the most charismatic and controversial American entertainers of all time. \nHe was one of a kind!  \nClick here to read about his impressive record on Civil Rights. \nIn this brand-new multimedia presentation\, I will trace the biography of Sinatra’s improbable life. We will look at his odd childhood as a skinny Italian street kid in working-class Hoboken\, New Jersey. His father was a prizefighter turned saloon keeper; his mother was a hard-drinking suffragette and political power in Hoboken who also made a living by performing abortions. We will look at Sinatra’s bumpy road to stardom. His career had so many ups and downs! Frank Sinatra seemed unstoppable from singing with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey big bands to being the idol of the Bobby Sox brigades in the early 1940s. But when he avoided serving in World War II and musical tastes began to shift\, his career went into a steep decline that was only rescued by the help of the Mafia and his amazing performance in the movie “From Here To Eternity.” \n \nThe rest of the story is equally fascinating. It includes Swingin’ Sinatra\, the Rat Pack\, JFK\, Marilyn Monroe\, and civil rights. So are Lucky Luciano\, Sam Giancana\, Skinny D’Amato\, Jilly Rizzo\, and the Mafia. (Click here to read about how Peter Lawford connected Sinatra to JFK!)In this one-of-a-kind presentation filled with video clips\, amazing anecdotes\, and insightful analysis\, we will look at all sides of the one and only Chairman of the Board\, Frank Sinatra. \n

SUMMARY:The Beach Boys: America’s Band and Their Timeless Sound
DESCRIPTION:With Brian Wilson’s death on June 11\, 2025\, American music lost one of its most dynamic and original creators. As co-founder of the Beach Boys\, Wilson was the musical genius behind the California sound\, melding lush harmonies\, inventive arrangements\, and emotional depth into pop music in ways few have ever done. From iconic early hits like Surfin’ U.S.A. to masterpieces like Pet Sounds and Good Vibrations\, his work continues to inspire musicians across genres. \nThe Beach Boys created an unmistakably American sound — sunny\, inventive\, and layered with harmonies that captured the spirit of an era. Emerging from Southern California in the early 1960s\, they became the soundtrack of surfboards\, convertibles\, and endless summers. Yet their music was far more sophisticated than it first appeared. Brian Wilson\, their creative force\, blended rock\, jazz\, and classical influences to craft songs that still feel fresh decades later. \nThe Beach Boys constantly pushed boundaries from early hits like Surfin’ U.S.A. and California Girls to the groundbreaking Pet Sounds album and the iconic Good Vibrations. Their work influenced everyone from the Beatles to today’s indie bands. Behind the catchy tunes were stories of sibling rivalries\, innovation in the studio\, and the complicated personal struggles that shaped their artistry. \nThis fascinating multimedia program traces the history of the Beach Boys — from their modest beginnings in Hawthorne\, California\, to their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. \nWith fabulous music clips\, rare stories\, and cultural context\, we’ll rediscover why the Beach Boys remain one of American music history’s most important and beloved groups. \nWhether you grew up with their records or are hearing them with new ears\, their story is as moving as their melodies. \n

SUMMARY:The Life Of Robin Williams
DESCRIPTION:The Life Of Robin Williams\nRobin Williams was one of the funniest comedians of all time.  His improvisational skills were almost other-worldly!  Yet behind the comic persona lay a complex man- intensely charitable and compassionate but plagued by insecurity\, battling addictions\, and vulnerable to depression. In this multimedia presentation\, we will examine the fascinating life and tragic death of Robin Williams – and watch as his remarkable career took shape! \nWhile early audiences remember him as Mork\, others remember his free-form\, intense improvisational riffs.  We will also celebrate his long\, accomplished and acclaimed career as a film actor. \n \nLike fellow comedian Steve Martin\, Robin Williams became a superb movie actor. Over time\, he took on acting roles in almost every genre. Robin Williams excelled in drama\, comedy\, animation\, and thrillers\, making an indelible impression in all genres. He could play a research neurologist in one film and a cross-dressing nanny in the next. Williams was nominated several times for Oscars\, including a win playing a compassionate and serious psychotherapist in “Good Will Hunting.” \nWe will examine clips from a diverse selection of his movie work\, including “Mrs. Doubtfire\,” “Aladdin\,” “Awakenings\,” “One Hour Photo\,” “Good Morning\, Vietnam\,” “A Night At The Museum\,” “Good Will Hunting\,” and many more. \nAlthough we will undoubtedly discuss Robin Williams’ tragic death\, most of this fascinating presentation will focus on the extraordinary life and truly unparalleled talent of one of the most unique and funniest men of all time—the great Robin Williams. \n

\nWe have been through with whispered knowledge of conspiracies\, confessions\, and coverups.
His father\, Marty\, was a prizefighter turned saloon keeper; his colorful and ambitious mother was a hard-drinking suffragette and political power in Hoboken who also made a living by performing abortions. \nWe will examine Sinatra’s bumpy road to stardom. His career had so many ups and downs! Frank Sinatra seemed unstoppable from singing with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey big bands to being the idol of the Bobby Sox brigades in the early 1940s. But when he avoided serving in World War II and musical tastes began to shift\, his career went into a steep decline that was only rescued by the help of the Mafia and his amazing performance in the movie “From Here To Eternity.” \n \nThe rest of the Frank Sinatra story is equally fascinating. \nIt includes Swingin’ Sinatra\, the Rat Pack\, JFK\, Marilyn Monroe\, and civil rights. So are Lucky Luciano\, Sam Giancana\, Skinny D’Amato\, Jilly Rizzo\, and the Mafia. (Click here to read about how Peter Lawford connected Sinatra to JFK !)In this one-of-a-kind presentation filled with video clips\, amazing anecdotes\, and insightful analysis\, we will look at all sides of the one and only Chairman of the Board\, Frank Sinatra. \n

SUMMARY:Battle Of Trenton - Turning Point For Humanity
DESCRIPTION:The Battle Of Trenton\nThe iconic image of George Washington’s little boat crossing the Delaware River is firmly ingrained deep in the consciousness of America. Many people remember\, in general terms\, that General Washington took his army on rickety boats across an ice filled river to attack the enemy around Christmas time. The image of Washington Crossing the Delaware is so powerful and memorable that it has been used in  advertising\, comics\,\nand every avenue of popular culture. \nA deeper look at the Battle of Trenton shows us that it is actually an unmistakable turning point\, not only in the American Revolutionary war\, but in the history of the world. Although the Declaration of Independence made a breathtaking statement on the rights of man\, without the military victory at the Battle of Trenton\, the Revolutionary war and the Declaration  would merely be obscure footnotes in world history. They would just be anecdotal evidence of another failed revolt. \nWashington’s battle plan was audacious and his leadership was inspiring. After enduring a harrowing crossing of an ice filled river in a sleet storm in the middle of the night\, Washington’s men had to suffer through a nine mile march in a blizzard.  And then\, in less than ninety dramatic moments\, the Revolution was saved. The battle of Trenton was the first fight General Washington had won and is still the most important.
