SUMMARY:America's Purpose Statement: The Declaration Of Independence
DESCRIPTION:The most important sentence ever written by an American – a sentence that has inspired people in every part of the world – is found in America’s purpose statement! Click here to read more. The legacy of Washington\, Hancock\, Franklin\, Jefferson\, Adams\, Hamilton\, and Paul Revere still challenges us. \n \nOn a stifling July Thursday in 1776\, our Founding Fathers agreed to a completely unique document in the world’s history. There had been many revolutions over the centuries\, but never had one begun with a philosophical purpose statement. \nAlthough the Declaration of Independence has no legal power\, the Declaration has become the guiding beacon for what America strives to become. As the events of 2020 showed\, we as a nation are a world leader in human rights\, yet\, America is still a work in progress. \n \nWhy study the Declaration of Independence? Because it is the ultimate statement of what we hope to become. It has been quoted by freedom movements in the USA and worldwide. \nYet many Americans know surprisingly little about it. In this exciting and thought-provoking multimedia presentation\, I will present the thrilling themes\, difficult negotiations\, contradictory\, complex\, charismatic personalities\, and exciting events leading to the most critical moment in American history. \n

SUMMARY:The Ten Greatest American Presidents
DESCRIPTION:The Ten Best American Presidents\n \nHow do we determine who the greatest Presidents were? \nOne recent poll of the American public disclosed that they believed Bill Clinton is the greatest President of all time! \nAnother recent poll\, this one only of Republicans\, showed that 5% considered George W. Bush the greatest President of all time! \nLet’s not ask the public! \nWhen professional historians are asked to compile lists of the greatest Presidents\, they usually choose Washington\, Lincoln\, and FDR as the best. (apologies to both Presidents Bush and Clinton!) \nBut after those three\, the lists become intriguing. Does Truman belong in the pantheon? How about Jefferson\, Jackson\, Theodore Roosevelt\, Reagan\, or Polk? Can a case be made for Madison\, Cleveland\, JFK\, or Wilson? The debate is fun\, and the comparisons are exciting! I will prevent my intentionally provocative choices in this fast-moving multimedia presentation. \nTHIS PROGRAM IS FREE AND IN PERSON ONLY. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER  ON THE FORM. \nENTER THE TITLE “10 Best Presidents at 6 PM July 27 \n
