SUMMARY:Gregory Peck
DESCRIPTION:If your mental picture of Gregory Peck is that of a straight-shooting\, honest\, compassionate\, masculine but sensitive man who would always have your back and always stand up for the underdog\, you’d be very close to the truth!  While far from being a perfect man\, Gregory Peck was a good man who was deeply admired within the industry and beloved by fans. When President Nixon put the liberal Democrat Gregory Peck and his so-called “enemies list\,” Peck Ward as a badge of honor. Peck was also given a true badge of honor when President Lyndon B. Johnson awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. \nAs we talk about the films of Gregory Peck\, of course\, your mind will leap to his iconic portrayal of Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” However\, Park made almost 60 films beginning in 1944 with “Days Of Glory” and concluding in 1991 with the fabulous “Other Peoples Money.” Among his great classics are “Roman Holiday\,” “The Guns of Navarone\,” “Spellbound\,” “Moby Dick\,” and Gentleman’s AGreement.” \nYou may be surprised to find that Gregory Peck was also a very committed liberal activist. He stood in favor of the Civil Rights Movement and stood against Joe McCarthy\, the war in Vietnam\, and raised money to defeat segregationist candidates in major political races. His life makes for a fascinating multimedia presentation that you will not want to miss!

SUMMARY:Natalie Wood
DESCRIPTION:Natalie Wood was one of the most popular and glamorous actresses of the 1950s and 60s. She starred in numerous classic films including\, “Miracle on 34th St.” “Rebel Without a Cause\,” “West Side Story\,” “Gypsy\,” “Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice\,” “Splendor in the Grass\,” “Sex and the Single Girl\,” & “The Great Race.” Her stunning looks\, popular performances\, and her marriages and romances made her a staple on magazine covers for 20 years. \nShe’s one of the few performers to have a significant career as a child\, teenager\, and adult. Although critics were often less than impressed by her acting ability\, she set a record by becoming only the second actress to receive three Academy Awards before she turned 25 years old! (Jennifer Lawrence and Sairose Ronan have since bested that record.) \nWhen Natalie Wood was only 43\, a mother of two\, with a great career in films and television potentially still ahead\, she died under mysterious – possibly criminal – circumstances in the Pacific Ocean. \nThis fascinating multimedia public speaking presentation will explore her troubled life\, fabulous career\, and the mysterious death of Natalie Wood.
