DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Oscars used to be a “can’t miss” event for many people! We’d see all the films and debate who would win. It doesn’t feel that way anymore. There are so many awards shows for films that the drama of the Oscars seems lost. \nThere’s another factor. Between the pandemic and the explosion of streaming options\, going out to the movies has lost its appeal for many people. Even before Covid\, the percentage of Americans who go to a movie theater had sharply declined. \nAs a result\, I thought it’d be fun to present a look at the films nominated for best picture at this year’s Academy Awards. I’ll present clips\, talk about the film’s background\, tell you where it is streaming\, and give you a recommendation. I think this will become an annual presentation! \nCOST \nI ask for a voluntary donation of $5.00.
