SUMMARY:Gregory Peck - Special Presentation With His Daughter!
DESCRIPTION:Hello\, friends! \nThis is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Film expert Jarett Miller and I will be doing a free multimedia presentation on the amazing life and phenomenal career of Gregory Peck. \nWhat makes this so special is that Gregory Peck’s daughter\, multiple award-winning documentary filmmaker\, Cecilia Peck\, will be our special guest and answer your questions! \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER! \nIf your mental picture of Gregory Peck is that of a straight-shooting\, honest\, compassionate\, masculine but sensitive man who would always have your back and always stand up for the underdog\, you’d be very close to the truth!  While far from being a perfect man\, Gregory Peck was a good man who was deeply admired within the industry and beloved by fans. When President Nixon put the liberal Democrat Gregory Peck and his so-called “enemies list\,” Peck Ward as a badge of honor. Peck was also given a true badge of honor when President Lyndon B. Johnson awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. \nAs we talk about the films of Gregory Peck\, of course\, your mind will leap to his iconic portrayal of Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” However\, Park made almost 60 films beginning in 1944 with “Days Of Glory” and concluding in 1991 with the fabulous “Other Peoples Money.“ Among his great classics are “Roman Holiday\,” “The Guns of Navarone\,” “Spellbound\,” “Moby Dick\,” and Gentleman’s AGreement.” \nYou may be surprised to find that Gregory Peck was also a very committed liberal activist. He stood in favor of the Civil Rights Movement and stood against Joe McCarthy\, the war in Vietnam\, and raised money to defeat segregationist candidates in major political races. His life makes for a fascinating multimedia presentation that you will not want to miss! \nPLEASE NOTE: This will be a two-hour presentation on Zoom \nEastern Time Zone: 3:00 – 5:00 \nCentral Time: 2:00 – 4:00 \nMountain Time: 1:00 – 3:00 \nPacific Time: 12:00 – 2:00 \nREGISTRATION: Free registration: CLICK HERE

SUMMARY:Alfred Hitchcock
DESCRIPTION:JARETT MILLER PRESENTS! \nSir Alfred Hitchcock directed some of the greatest suspense films of all time. Although his reputation has suffered somewhat because of the slasher/horror films he made in the early 1960s\, his work in the 1940s and 50s presented some of the most complex\, fascinating\, and suspenseful films ever made. His life and amazing body of work are highlighted in this multimedia presentation. \nBefore “Psycho” and “The Birds\,” Hitchcock created some of the most memorable suspense films ever made. Often starring Cary Grant or James Stewart opposite an icy blonde like Kim Novak or Grace Kelly\, the Golden Era of Hitchcock films were mysterious\, exciting\, and clever movies packed with tension.  \nConsider the masterpiece “Rear Window.” Stewart plays a globe-trotting photographer who is confined to his apartment with a broken leg. He spends all day staring at the apartments across the courtyard\, making up stories to explain the actions of the residents. But when he suspects that one of them has committed a murder\, his obsession becomes overwhelming. He draws his girlfriend and his nurse into believing his theory. Hitchcock’s mastery can be shown when you realize we\, the audience\, do not actually know if a murder took place at all! But for two hours\, we lean forward\, anxiously waiting to find out if what we think we have seen is what really happened! \nAlfred Hitchcock directed “Vertigo\,” which some critics consider to be the best movie ever made! “North By Northwest” \ncontains two of the most iconic shots in cinema history! Who can forget Cary Grant running through a field\, being chased by a crop duster\, or the mad scramble across Mount Rushmore? Hitchcock’s style\, understated wit\, and clever personal cameos all worked together to create a unique and wonderful body of work. So distinctive is the style of Alfred Hitchcock that all subsequent suspense films are inevitably compared to his work! \nWe will also explore the twisted mind and complex life of Alfred Hitchcock. \nJoin JARETT MILLER for this FREE Presentation through Suffern Library! \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER!
