SUMMARY:Carole King Beautiful
DESCRIPTION:Other than actually attending a Broadway show\, there is nothing I love more  than speaking about Broadway! If you share my passion for great theater and great music\, you absolutely won’t want to miss this unique multimedia presentation on the Tony award-winning musical “Carole King: Beautiful.” it is a stunning and  powerful musical\, rich with nostalgia and familiar songs. \nMore than that\, it is the biography of a woman who changed popular culture and the biography of the times. Carole King wrote music that sold millions of copies and made stars  out of many performers. But she was also a very young woman working in a man’s world\, negotiating the sexism and excitement of the 1960s as she worked her way to the top. \nWe will examine Carole King’s absolutely fascinating personal biography as well as taking a long  multimedia look at this brilliant Broadway production.

SUMMARY:Hamilton: The Man\, Miranda And The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Who could have predicted  that an 818 page biography of America’s first secretary of the treasury\, Alexander Hamilton\, would become one of the biggest Broadway smashes of all time? Yet this fascinating blend of history and hip-hop\, political debate and show tunes has not only swept the Tony awards\, but played to standing room only audiences  for over a year!  Naturally\, as a historian who lives for Broadway\, I couldn’t wait to be in the audience. And I can tell you that the show more than lives up to its hype. This is an amazing work of genius – a combination of history\, music\, performance and thought-provoking content that will long be considered a hallmark in the history of Broadway. \n Alexander Hamilton: The Man\, The Writer\, The Musical\n In this brand-new\, fast-paced and fascinating multimedia presentation\, I will offer audiences  a mini biography of the real Alexander Hamilton and his place in American history. Then we will look at the life and work of Lin-Manuel Miranda\, the genius who created and starred in Hamilton. \nFinally\, we will look at the musical itself. I’ll play excerpts from the songs\, explain the narrative structure and help you have a greater appreciation  for the show\, whether you’ve seen it a dozen times already or are seeing it for the first time!

SUMMARY:Finding Neverland
DESCRIPTION:I simply LOVE going to see just about anything playing on Broadway. Nonetheless\,  when I was (somewhat reluctantly) taken by \nmy daughter to see “Finding Neverland”  in New York\, I’ll admit my expectations were not very high.   \nAnd was I ever wrong! Finding Neverland proved to be an extremely powerful and moving  in very unexpected ways. It is my pleasure to present a unique multimedia presentation on both the show and the strange\, complex and controversial true story on which it is based. \n“Finding Neverland” is NOT the same thing as Peter Pan. Instead\, it is the rich and very poignant story of how J.M. Barrie came to write “Peter Pan.” make no mistake – this is not a children’s story. It is a deep and fascinating look at the process of creation\, invention and a man’s fight to reclaim himself. The music is powerful and the staging is imaginative – no wonder Broadway loved “Finding Neverland!” \nPLEASE NOTE: Registration is required\, but is available at the door! Contact the venue if you have any questions!
