SUMMARY:American in Paris and Bridges of Madison County
DESCRIPTION:An American in Paris was one of the most popular movie musicals of all time. In 2016\, Broadway offered an extremely daring and unique interpretation of the classic story.  It was  hailed by Broadway critics as a brilliant production and honored with a huge number of Tony Award nominations. \nBroadway’s he Bridges of Madison County was also based on an extremely popular movie. Jason Robert Brown\, one of Broadway’s hottest composers created a lovely score for the romantic drama. To everyone’s surprise\, it had a surprisingly short life on Broadway despite very positive reviews. This special show is coming to Chicago for a limited engagement.   \nJoin us for a dynamic and insightful multimedia presentation on these two great Broadway musicals !    \nImportant note: registration is required. Please contact the venue you have any questions or need help with the registration process.

SUMMARY:She Loves Me and Honeymoon in Vegas
DESCRIPTION:Our “Broadway Comes to Chicago” series continues with  two wonderful and very different shows:She Loves Me and Honeymoon in Vegas.  both of these wonderful musicals will be playing at the Marriot Lincolnshire and I’m excited to introduce them to you! \n She Loves Me is a small\, intimate romantic musical. It is one of my favorite shows ever. In many ways it is a very unusual Broadway musical because there are no huge production numbers\, barely dressed chorus girls\, terrific special effects or instantly recognizable pop standards. But every moment of this show is beautiful. It is based on the Jimmy Stewart movie “The Shop around the Corner” which has also been made into the Judy Garland film\, “In the Good Old Summertime” AND  the wildly popular Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan romantic comedy ” You’ve Got Mail.” This is a charming\, sweet natured romantic comedy with an absolutely gorgeous score. You’ll see why it’s one of my favorites!  \n Honeymoon In Vegas had a relatively short run on Broadway  but is nonetheless of very enjoyable\, funny musical. Based on a popular film starring Sarah Jessica Parker\, Nicolas Cage\, and James Caan\,  it features all the elements that She Loves Me lax! There’s plenty of pretty chorus girls\, great production numbers\, wacky comedy and again a beautiful score. I can’t wait to introduce both of these shows to you! \n Important note: registration is required for this program. Please contact the venue directly for assistance and information about attending!

SUMMARY:Hamilton: The Man\, Miranda And The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Who could have predicted  that an 818 page biography of America’s first secretary of the treasury\, Alexander Hamilton\, would become one of the biggest Broadway smashes of all time? Yet this fascinating blend of history and hip-hop\, political debate and show tunes has not only swept the Tony awards\, but played to standing room only audiences  for over a year!  Naturally\, as a historian who lives for Broadway\, I couldn’t wait to be in the audience. And I can tell you that the show more than lives up to its hype.
