DESCRIPTION:James Madison and the Founding Fathers were deeply concerned about what would\nhappen if a president lost his moral bearing and committed crimes while serving as chief executive of the land. Their concern led them to include impeachment in the Constitution as a necessary remedy for Congress to remove a corrupt president. The history of presidential impeachment is fascinating and instructive. This multimedia presentation will look at each of the four presidential impeachments. In this multimedia presentation\, we will look at each of the four presidential impeachments that went to trial. \nFirst\, we will look at why first we will look at why the 1868 Republican House Of Representatives impeached Democrat Andrew Johnson for willfully and blatantly violating a law\, the hotly contested Tenure of Office Act. \nNext\, we will examine why the 1998 Republican House Of Representatives impeached Democratic President Bill Clinton for lying under oath to a grand jury after a sex scandal. \nFinally\, we will look at the two impeachment trials of Donald Trump. As the only President to be impeached a second time (no one else came close)\, what we learned about impeachment during his two trials will have significant ramifications for the future. \nThe first\, a primarily partisan matter\, centered on alleged corruption in the Presidents dealing with a foreign power to win an election. Although impeached by a Democratic House Of Representatives\, Trump became the first President ever to have a member of his party vote for his conviction—the second impeachment of Pres. Trump was the most bipartisan in history—the second impeachment of Pres. Trump was the most bipartisan in history. It stemmed from his actions when. DESCRIPTION:Bill Clinton stood politics on its ear in 1992! \n1992  presented one of the most unusual\, exciting\, and important elections in modern American history.  After 12 consecutive years of Republican presidents\, the upstart from Arkansas came out of nowhere to unseat a patrician president.  Add to the next the involvement of a dynamic\, controversial\, and unbelievably wealthy third-party candidate\, Ross Perot\, and you have the makings of an endlessly fascinating election. \n  \nThis fast-moving multimedia presentation will feature the inside stories\, little-known anecdotes\, and electrifying events of the election of 1992.  from the moment Bill Clinton played saxophone on the Arsenio Hall show to the moment George HW Bush checked his watch\, seemingly bored during the debate\, this campaign provided endless fascination.  Its nearest comparison would be the three-way election of 1912 that saw Woodrow Wilson split the votes of Republican voters and capture the presidency for the Democrats after having been out of office for many years.  We will also see how the 1992 election led to the rise of both George W. Bush and Barack Obama and changed politics forever.
