The bold committee that drafted the Declaration of Independence\, primarily Thomas Jefferson\, Benjamin Franklin\, and John Adams  understood that the revolution was about something more profound than simply political rights or taxation.They understood the importance of the moment.  Drawing on the natural rights of men\, they made the American Revolution a struggle for the concepts of equality and democracy. They saw a higher purpose for their actions. With a major American city under siege and occupied by soldiers their very lives were on the line. Yet the Continental Congress stood their ground by approving a document that contained the most important sentence ever written by an American.  The thrilling events that led to the Declaration of Independence and its actual meaning and influence on America will come to life in this exciting multimedia presentation. \nWe will focus on the importance of the Declaration of Independence. We will see how it has inspired and motivated generations of Americans.  In addition\, we will see how Abraham Lincoln elevated it in the minds of the American people.
