Many Americans mistakenly think that the Revolutionary War is a boring topic. That’s only because you’ve never heard the dramatic stories of how America wanted its independence. Today, we will concentrate on the unexpected and road events in the cradle of the Revolution: Boston.

In the spring of 1775, tensions between Great Britain and its American colonies reached a breaking point. Within a year, the streets, fields, and hills surrounding Boston would witness some of the most important events in American history, transforming a political dispute into a full-scale revolution.

In this dynamic multimedia presentation, historian Barry Bradford traces the dramatic story of Boston’s revolutionary year. Meet the remarkable men who helped shape the Patriot cause, including Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and John Adams, and discover how their leadership influenced the events that changed the world. Follow the dramatic action from the Boston Tea Party and the siege of Boston through Lexingtonn and Concorn, the bloody Battle of Bunker Hill, and George Washington’s brilliant victory at Dorchester Heights, which forced the British Army to abandon the city.

Filled with dramatic stories of fascinating characters, maps, artwork, eyewitness accounts, and video clips, this program brings to life the people, battles, and decisions that launched the American Revolution and set the colonies on the path to independence.

Yet despite their very different personalities, philosophies, and achievements, most Americans today would have a hard time distinguishing one from another. This even though one of them is the primary author of the Constitution (James Madison) and the other is one of the greatest heroes of the Battle of Trenton. (James Monroe) Each served as president of the United States, and their presidencies were very different as well.

We will look at the far-ranging influence of these two great men. As their lives intersected with people like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams, each was to become revered for their patriotism, courage, wisdom, and enormous contributions to the growth of the new nation.

Paul Revere: A Patriot With A Purpose

Paul Revere is a unique figure in USA history His name is universally known for his “Midnight Ride,” yet he seems to appear out of nowhere on that day and disappear the next Like Rosa Parks, he seems to be important for one day of his life, which changes American History and then vanishes But like Mrs. Parks, Paul Revere was a brave, determined, and respected leader who led a rich, complete, and essential life before and after his moment of fame.

While Americans recall something of the drama of Paul Revere’s ride, the details are more harrowing, exciting, and heroic than you may realize. The CIA credits Revere with organizing the first spy network to protect America!

Paul Revere was captured on his way to Lexington and Concord by the British -who threatened him with death The daring Patriot escaped their clutches, slipping through their lines and then riding tirelessly, Revere saved the necks of John Hancock and John Adams Using his quick wits and unbelievable courage, Paul Revere even managed to smuggle top-secret documents to safety -right under the nose of the British column!

How was Paul Revere a Patriot with a purpose? And which modern United States hero would be the most comparable to him? Click here to read my surprising answer!

What a fascinating story!

Adams’ name is synonymous with the greatest glories of the American Revolution. No American did more to convince the nation of our need for Independence. He was a lawyer, a statesman, and a powerful writer who insisted on the truth. In the tumultuous days before the Revolution, Adams was a leader in an American city under occupation. He was a power in the Continental Congress, a leading voice for Independence, an ambassador, VP, and our nation’s second President. His life story is fascinating!

George Washington is America’s greatest hero. He was our greatest soldier. He was also our greatest President. His contemporaries already knew that he was a man whose importance to the nation could never be questioned. One of the most honored statesmen of the day had this to say when Washington died: “First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.”

George Washington was tall, athletic, and absolutely fearless. Yet his military career was cut short before Congress appointed him to be the commanding General, the head of the Continental Army. Click here to read a fascinating account of why he is still the highest-ranking American military officer of all time. Although we remember him as a great General, his first year of command was disastrous!

But then at the Battle of Trenton. General Washington’s courage, daring, and heroic leadership became evident to the world. That battle is best remembered for the breathtaking Christmas crossing of the Delaware River. Still, it also holds the amazing distinction of being the first military battle ever fought in an urban setting! More importantly, the Battle of Trenton directly changed the course of the history of America – and the entire world! It is the single most important battle in the history of the USA.

Click here to read more about why the Battle of Trenton is so important to the history of the world.

After the Revolution, of course, Washington’s fame and importance only grew. As the first President of the United States, he helped turn America from a series of promises laid out in the Declaration of Independence into a living Republic that continues to shine as a beacon of freedom and hope to people and nations around the world.

This multimedia presentation will offer a new perspective on the personality of the greatest American of all time!
