1943 – A Look At The World 75 Years Ago
June 13, 2018 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
75 years ago America was deep in the middle of the Second World War, just leaving the Great Depression, and dancing to the music of Glenn Miller’s Orchestra. The Battle of Midway in the Pacific and the Allied invasion of Italy were creating hope that Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan would be defeated.
In 1943 George Harrison and Chevy Chase were born, George Washington Carver and Nikola Tesla died, a gallon of gas cost 15 cents, John F. Kennedy lost the PT 109 and the Chicago Bears won the championship of the NFL. These stories and so much more will be featured in this fascinating look back at the world of 1943 – 75 years ago!
