Alexander Graham Bell: Communicating with the Future

Alexander Graham Bell:

Communicating with the Future

If you mention the name Alexander Graham Bell, one word immediately springs to mind: telephone. Bell, a brilliant and determined educator as well as inventor changed the future. The invention of the telephone revolutionized the way we communicate with one another. But could even the great Alexander Graham Bell himself anticipate that someday you might well be reading this on a phone?

Alexander Graham Bell came from a distinguished family of educators who had dedicated themselves to helping the deaf. The recurring theme throughout Bell’s life was an attempt to open the world of sound to those who were hard of hearing. This included his wife. It also included his mother.

The life of Alexander Graham Bell is fascinating for what we don’t know. Had Alexander Graham Bell only invented the telephone, he would absolutely be worthy of respect for all time. But as you will learn in this multimedia biography presentation, Bell did much more than invent the telephone. His other inventions had enormous impact on the technology of the time. Some are still in use, in modified forms, today. And then there is his work as an educator. His compassion for the hard of hearing was enormous. But he channeled his brilliant mind into finding solutions.
