Although he started in poverty grew to phenomenal well. He was a brilliant writer, a political leader of immeasurable importance, a world renowned scientist, and his inventions have been credited with saving countless lives throughout the centuries. Benjamin Franklin.  he invented the lightning rod, bifocal glasses, the Franklin stove which heated American homes for many years, a pedometer and so many other practical items.
