Best Films Never To Win An Oscar

What do “The Shawshank Redemption,”  “It’s A Wonderful Life,” “Vertigo,” “The Maltese Falcon,” “Dr. Strangelove,” &  “Double Indemnity” have in common? Two things. First, each is considered to be one of the greatest movies ever made. Second, neither received even a single Oscar! It’s hard to believe, but the list of snubs of great films by the Academy Awards is long, surprising, and inexplicable.

 This one-of-a-kind presentation features numerous film clips, interesting details about the production and reception of these classic films, and fascinating anecdotes about the films. We will attempt to explain how and why Oscar missed recognizing some of the greatest films ever made!
