Bill Murray

June 22, 2023 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Bill Murray has had one of the most unique and unpredictable careers of anyone in show business!

Starting off as a snarky deadpan comic, one of the first breakout stars on Saturday Night Biography of Bill MurrayLive, he made a series of wildly successful and hugely popular comedies, including “Stripes,” “Caddyshack,” Ghostbusters,” and “Tootsie.”

If we stopped the clock on Murray’s career there, he’d be remembered as a great comic movie star with broad appeal. The film career of his SNL castmate Chevy Chase might be a good eqiovalent.

But unlike Chase, whose film career stalled out, Bill Murray made a breathtaking pivot into more serious, adult, and important movie roles.

In films like “Grounhog Day,” “The Razor’s Edge,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” “Monuments Men,” and his Oscar nominated performance in “Lost In Translation, Historian Barry Bradford presents a multi-media biography of Bill MurrayBill Murray has established himself as a versatil and talented dramatic actor.

This intriguing multimedia presentation will delve into Murray’s quirky and iconoclastic personality. He’s a Chicago Cubs superfan and the co-owner of several minor league baseball teams. However, Bill Murray has been accused of inappropriate behavior, engaged in many feuds, and Dan Ayckroyd dubbed him “Murraycane” for his wild mood swigs.

This presentation will be in hybrid format – you can attend in person or watch on Zoom. Contact the host for registration information.
