Diana: Glamorous And Tragic Life And Death Of a Princess
She was the “People’s Princess” beloved for her compassion as much as for her glamour.
Diana Spencer was a shy, beautiful and charming kindergarten assistant teacher when she caught the eye of Charles,Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne of Great Britain. At first to the public Diana Spencer’s story seemed just like a fairytale. “Shy Dii” a pretty teenager had been plucked out of obscurity to marry the future King Of England.
But the truth of Diana’s life was very different from the public perception. in 1981, an estimated 750 million people around the world watched the 20-year-old Diana marry her Prince amidst all the pomp and circumstance of the British Empire. But in barely more than 10 years Diana was divorced with two children, suffering from depression and eating disorders, brought out on (in part) by the realization that her husband had been having an affair with a long time girlfriend.
After her ugly, public divorce, Princess Diana became an outcast from the British Royal family. Queen Elizabeth and the British royal family were shocked to discover that Diana had become even more beloved by the British public.
Diana was beloved by the world as an affectionate and doting mother of two, an icon of glamour, fashion, style, and most importantly as a tireless champion for humanitarian causes. Diana befriended Mother Teresa joining forces in an effort to bring attention to the plight of poor children around the globe. She risked her life to try and rid war zones of the scourge of land mines.
All the while, Diana’s every move was followed by the rabid British press which detailed her every date, every vacation, and every outfit. When she suddenly died in a horrible car crash in Paris, Diana was mourned by people all around the world.
This is a presentation not to be missed!
Diana’s unique, unexpected life, which veered between glamour and tragedy and her sudden and controversial death make for an unforgettable story.
