The answer is Grover Cleveland -the best president you don’t know about! Cleveland of one of the popular vote in three consecutive elections: 1880, 1884, and 1888. Grover Cleveland served two consequential nonconsecutive terms after losing the Electoral College in a very narrow contest in 1884.
