Many consider it the funniest situation comedy of all time.

How widespread was the popularity of ”I Love Lucy?” In her autobiography, Lucille Ball told a charming story of being in Japan, turning on the TV, and seeing one of her favorite episodes of the show-dubbed in Japanese!

In the 1960s, Lucy came back with a new show dad also dominated the ratings for half a Lucille ball and Vivian VanLucille ball and Vivian Vance on the Lucy show decade.

But behind-the-scenes, the life of Lucille Ball was far from being a comedy. Although she is well remembered for her kindness, generosity, and warmth, Lucille Ball suffered through a very dysfunctional childhood. Her rebellious teenage years almost led her to disaster. Lucy’s marriage was controversial and challenging. Although she had built a solid career as a model and movie actress, it wasn’t until the years of television that Lucille Ball became a superstar.
