Here is what we know for sure.  Jack Ruby was an erratic, violent man who murdered Lee Harvey Oswald.

The most hotly debated question related to this infamous crime is WHY Jack Ruby chose to murder Lee Harvey Oswald.  Some conspiracy theorists focus on Ruby’s ties to Chicago’s organized crime Outfit and claim that he shot Oswald on orders from the Mafia in order to protect the Mob leaders who ordered JFK’s assassination.  Other theorists jump on his ties to the Dallas Police and say he was a hitman working for THEM! (The statements would seem contradictory unless you assume that the Mafia and the Dallas Police conspired to murder Oswald!)
