Jimmy Cagney was many things. He was a world-class dancer, a serious actor, a loyal friend, a radical liberal who became an extremely conservative Republican, a farmer, sailor, and a jockey. Cagney served as a Union President and proudly received the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom. First and foremost, he is remembered as one of the great actors of the 1930s and 40s, a star whose name appeared above the title in many a great film.
