Mark Twain: American Treasure
January 31, 2017 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Mark Twain is truly an American treasure. First and foremost, he was a great novelist. “Huckleberry Finn” is often called the quintessential American novel and the book that began modern American writing. His other works, including “Tom Sawyer” & “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court” helped to define American fiction. His short stories are still included in the anthologies used by students more than a century after his death.
He is just as well remembered for his amazing wit. Although not a comedian, his witticisms influenced comic writers from HL Mencken to Dennis Miller. He was an investor, public speaker, friend to presidents and the poor. The amazing, unparalleled life of Mark Twain will spring to life in this unique multimedia presentation filled with rare video clips, intriguing insights, amazing anecdotes and lots of biographical detail.
