Movies About Lincoln – Abraham Lincoln On Film
July 1, 2020 @ 9:30 AM - 11:00 PM
No President of the United States has been portrayed in the movies more often than Abraham Lincoln!
From the earliest days of silent movies, Lincoln has been featured in more movies than all other Presidents combined. The most brilliant of these iconic performances can be seen in John Ford’s groundbreaking “Young Mr. Lincoln” starring Henry Fonda. Raymond Massey played Lincoln so often on stage, movies, and TV that George S. Kaufman famously observed: “[Raymond] Massey won’t be satisfied until he’s assassinated!”
Even in contemporary films such as Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” the myth of Honest Abe grows and evolves with each movie. In this insightful, mesmerizing and nostalgic multimedia presentation, you will see my work as a Lincoln scholar combined with my love of classic cinema!
