The (Almost) Best Films Of All Time (1930 – 1939)
January 3, 2016 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
What does The Wizard Of Oz have in common with To Kill A Mockingbird? How are the Maltese Falcon and Saving Private Ryan connected? The answer is that each of these films – and other films today considered classics – were nominated for but did not win – the Oscar for Best Picture! Each week we will take a different decade and look at some of the best films not to be chosen as the Best Picture Of The Year. Below are some of the films we will be featuring:
1930 – 1939
A Farewell To Arms
The Thin Man
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Top Hat
Imitation Of Life
Mr. Deeds Goes To Town
Goodbye, Mr. Chips
Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
Wuthering Heights
