The Films Of Gregory Peck
June 28, 2015 @ 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
This event is not open to the general public.Gregory Peck looked like a movie star! Tall, handsome, blessed with a resonant voice and piercing eyes, He was made for the big screen. And he could act! From the 1940s through the 1960s, he was one of the most popular and critically acclaimed actors in Hollywood. His starring performance in “To Kill A Mockingbird” stands as one of the greatest and most memorable performances in the entire history of the movies.
But Gregory Peck was a star long before that memorable movie. He starred in romantic comedies (including “Roman Holiday” which is on my list of the best American films set in Italy) war films (“Twelve O’ Clock High,” “The Guns Of Navarone”) dramas (“The Yearling,” “The Man In The Gray Flannel Suit”) westerns (“Duel In The Sun,” “The Gunfighter”) and thrillers (“Spellbound,” “Cape Fear”) And the chances are good I left off one your favorites! I love one of his last films, the wonderful “Other People’s Money.”
Off screen, he was known as a warm-hearted and generous man who was widely respected. Join us for a fun and film clip filled look at the career of one of the all time film legends.
