Jack Lemmon is truly one of the greatest movie stars in the history of Hollywood. Handsome, versatile, charming, and gracious, Jack Lemmon could play any kind of role. In comedies such as “Some like It Hot,” “Mr. Roberts,” & “The Great Race,”  he proved to be one of the best screen comedians of all time. But he was just as convincing in dramas or romantic leads such as, “The Apartment,” “Save the Tiger,” & “Bell, Book, and Candle.” And we haven’t even touched on his amazing collaborations with Walter Matthau!

In addition to his obvious talent, it is wonderful to know that Jack Lemmon was considered to be one of the nicest men in Hollywood. “Paying it forward” was a concept he embraced and embodied. He used to say that those who had achieved stardom had a responsibility to “send the elevator back down” and help lift up others.
