As the Presidency of Barack Obama winds down we finish a two part look at the candidates who are likely to seek the nomination of their party for the Presidency.
“The GOP In An Open Field 2016” looks at the likely GOP candidate. Conventional wisdom says that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee if she chooses to run. However, at this writing, the GOP does not have a frontrunner. This is unusual for the Republicans, who almost inevitably have a presumed nominee in mind years before a Presidential Election
The potential GOP candidates are a racially ethnically diverse field, much more so than their Democratic counterparts! At least three major Hispanic candidates (Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Susana Martinez) two African-American candidates (Ben Carson and Allen West) a number of talented women (Martinez, Kelly Ayotte, Nikki Haley) and two Indian Americans (Haley and Bobby Jindal) have been mentioned as potential contenders. Add to that mix major powers such as Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Scott Walker and Paul Ryan) and you have a fascinating field indeed! We will look at the intriguing and colorful GOP bench in this fast moving multimedia presentation
