The History Of NBC

The history of NBC is perhaps the most storied and essential in broadcasting history. Its founder, the illustrious David Sarnoff, was the genius who turned a small local radio station into a gigantic, influential multimedia empire, always had dreams of greatness, and his tremendous vision brought his network along with him. His contributions to American popular culture cannot be overstated!

Although CBS had the early advantage in news broadcasting, NBC (an offshoot of RCA) eventually caught up with Huntley and Brinkley. It took a while for NBC to compete with CBS in radio, but stars like Bob Hope made it possible. The history of NBC in the television years is especially intriguing.
