Women Writers Of Broadway Musicals

With a few noticeable exceptions, writing lyrics for Broadway has been the domain of men. Oscar Hammerstein. Lin-Manuel Miranda. Irving Berlin. Stephen Sondheim. Call Porter. All were great! But it is no longer just a man’s world! Today, we feature some of the greatest women lyricists in the history of Broadway!
Although you may not be immediately familiar with writers like Lynn Ahrens, Sara Bareilles, Betty Comden, or Irene Sankoff, once you hear their lyrics, learn about their shows, and listen to the music, you are going to be a fan!
