Robert RedfordRobert Redford is one of the most popular American movie actors of all time. Although he was initially thought of as just a “pretty boy” presence, like Tyrone Power and Paul Newman before him, Robert Redford proved to be a superb actor.  The life and career of Robert Redford will fascinate you!

Like his friend and mentor, Paul Newman, Robert Redford took a long time to “find himself.” He spent his youth in trouble with the law and drank his way out of a division one baseball scholarship.

After living a wandering,  bohemian life in Europe, Redford returned to the United StatesUnexpected Movie Teams - Sidney Poitier and Dan Aykroyd and settled into acting. For over a half a century, he has been featured in some of the most popular and important American films of his era. As a Director, he has won an Academy award, become perhaps the most important champion of independent filmmaking through his creation of the Sundance Film Festival, been hailed as a leading spokesman for environmental protection, and developed a reputation for philanthropy. Although he is now retired from acting, the legacy of Robert Redford will impact American film for decades to come.
